Summary
In response to community feedback that purchasing contribution points is inconvenient during periods of low consensus coefficient, this proposal introduces a new "Turbo Balance" purchase option alongside the existing method. Users will be able to purchase contribution points directly using ARK from their turbo balance, without needing to first buy ARK with USDT and burn it, offering a more flexible way to acquire contribution points.
Purpose
- Address the inconvenience of purchasing contribution points during periods of low consensus coefficient
- Expand the utility of turbo balance, improving capital efficiency
Implementation Details
I. Current Mechanism
Contribution points can currently only be purchased by using USDT to buy ARK, which is then burned.
II. New Mechanism
A new "Turbo Balance" option will be added for purchasing contribution points, running in parallel with the existing USDT method:
- Option 1: Turbo Balance Purchase (New)
Use ARK from the turbo balance to purchase contribution points at a 5x multiplier. The ARK used is burned at the time of purchase.
- Option 2: USDT Purchase (Existing method, multiplier unchanged)
Use USDT to purchase contribution points at a 6x multiplier. The ARK purchased is burned at the time of purchase.
š Example:
With a turbo balance of 100 ARK, a user spends 20 ARK on contribution points. At the 5x multiplier, this yields 100 ARK worth of contribution points, and the 20 ARK used is immediately burned. If the same value were purchased using USDT instead, it would yield contribution points at the 6x multiplier, with the purchased ARK likewise burned.
III. Problem This Mechanism Solves
During periods of low consensus coefficient, the amount of ARK actually released from turbo assets is reduced. If users are still required to separately purchase ARK with USDT in order to acquire contribution points, this adds unnecessary friction and cost. The new "Turbo Balance Purchase" option allows users to use their turbo balance directly for contribution points, independent of coefficient fluctuations, while the USDT purchase channel remains available in parallel ā giving users the freedom to choose either method. Regardless of which method is used, the ARK involved is burned in both cases, preserving consistency with the mechanism's deflationary logic.
