Summary
This proposal introduces two changes to the INT lottery:
- Reduce the progressive jackpot chance from 10% to 1%
- Transfer 5 WETH from the INT DAO treasury to the progressive jackpot
The current weekly draw schedule will remain unchanged.
Motivation
With a 10% chance per draw, the progressive jackpot is expected to be won approximately once every ten weeks. This gives it too little time to grow into a meaningful headline prize.
Reducing the chance to 1% would increase the expected time between jackpot wins to approximately 100 weekly draws, or around two years.
A larger jackpot could attract more attention and ticket purchases, creating a potential growth cycle:
Larger jackpot → more attention → more ticket sales → faster jackpot growth.
Seeding the jackpot with 5 WETH would provide a meaningful starting prize and allow this strategy to begin immediately.
On-Chain Actions
If approved, the proposal will:
- Change the progressive jackpot probability from 10% to 1%.
- Transfer 5 WETH from the INT DAO treasury to the progressive jackpot contract.
Risks
The jackpot may still be won earlier than expected, remain unclaimed for much longer, or fail to meaningfully increase ticket demand.
The 5 WETH transferred to the jackpot will also no longer be available for other DAO initiatives.
Conclusion
These two targeted changes give the progressive jackpot more time and capital to grow without redesigning the existing lottery system.
