Proposal
A Governance Proposal to Reclaim, Revive, and Decentralize the Strike Protocol
Overview
The StrikeFi Community submits this proposal as a formal call to action to transition control of the protocol from the prior team to the community. This is a pivotal moment in Strike’s journey—a step toward full decentralization, open governance, and a renewed operational structure focused on efficiency, transparency, and innovation.
At the heart of this proposal is a clear and urgent mandate: disable legacy team access to the protocol, re-establish full functionality of the Strike frontend, and initiate the foundational steps to realize a truly community-driven DAO.
Current Situation & Justification
Strike’s protocol governance remains tethered to a legacy administrative structure which limits the community’s ability to implement timely improvements, upgrades, or critical transitions. A primary concern is the auto-cancel mechanism embedded within the protocol’s governance contract—an intentional safeguard deployed by the previous core team that allows them to unilaterally cancel governance proposals. While this may have once served as a protective feature during the early stages of Strike, it is now a barrier to decentralization and community autonomy.
This proposal aims to disable this centralized veto power and begin transitioning administrative authority to a new, transparent, and community-controlled governance architecture.
Proposal Objectives
This governance proposal outlines Stage 1 of Strike’s Decentralization Plan, with the following key objectives:
- Initialize Governance Proposal Execution Pathway Activate and utilize the governance system to allow proposal passage and execution without obstruction by legacy administrative controls.
- Set a New Pending Admin to Transition Control Establish a new Timelock contract where the prior team can no longer auto-cancel proposals. This will shift the protocol’s control structure to a safer, community-aligned timelock with transparent delays and execution flows.
- Restore Frontend Operations Upon successful passage, the community will initiate immediate efforts to restore the Strike frontend, enabling seamless protocol access for users, governance participants, and developers.
- Lay the Groundwork for Open Source and IPFS Deployment With legacy controls removed, the Strike frontend and associated tooling will be transitioned to fully open-source repositories. The community will begin migrating critical assets to IPFS to ensure censorship resistance, resilience, and full decentralization.
Long-Term Vision: DAO Transition & Roadmap
This proposal is the first in a series of strategic governance milestones intended to usher Strike into its next phase as a fully decentralized autonomous organization. Once Stage 1 is implemented, the StrikeFi Community will submit three follow-up proposals, which will include:
- Full Frontend Open Sourcing Transition all frontend and backend components to community-maintained open repositories with transparent contribution guidelines.
- DAO Operational Charter & Treasury Management Establish a formal DAO structure, including:
- A community-elected multisig or governance council
- A clear framework for budget allocation
- Community incentive programs for contributors, developers, and protocol evangelists
- Protocol Enhancement & Community Roadmap Define a forward-looking roadmap that outlines:
- Technical improvements
- Expansion strategies
- Incentives for protocol usage and governance participation
- Community-driven growth initiatives
Benefits of the Proposal
- Eliminates Centralized Obstruction Prevents any single entity (i.e., the former team) from halting protocol evolution via centralized controls.
- Reinstates Functional Access With frontend restoration and decentralized hosting, users regain reliable access to the protocol.
- Promotes Community SovereigntyTransitions Strike to a governance system where the community has real authority over the protocol’s future.
- Boosts Ecosystem ParticipationOpens the door for more contributors, developers, and builders to engage with Strike openly.
- Ensures Long-Term SustainabilityThrough a decentralized architecture and transparent development practices, Strike can evolve independently and robustly.
Conclusion
The StrikeFi Community Take Over is not just a proposal—it is a declaration of intent to protect and revive a vital DeFi protocol. The Strike ecosystem is ripe for resurgence, but that can only be achieved by returning its fate to the hands of its users and builders.
This proposal represents Stage 1 of a structured transition. If passed, it will be the spark that ignites a full decentralization effort—ensuring Strike no longer relies on the discretion of a single team but thrives under the stewardship of its community.
We urge all token holders, developers, and Strike supporters to vote in favor and participate actively in shaping the future of StrikeFi.
