Abstract

The organizational fluidity and prosocial potential of DAOs have attracted many talented individuals to web3. However, addressing the challenges of volatile compensation and fostering social/psychological stability is crucial to further boost adoption and retention in the ecosystem.

By leveraging Other Internet’s extensive experience in ethnographic work, web3 learning environments, and governance facilitation, we aim to unlock the full potential of human capital within the DAO ecosystem 💪👨‍🌾.

How does it support public goods?

Web3 Work project is an experiment in public goods creation. It aims to empower individuals and communities by creating standards and frameworks, generating institutional improvements, and drive positive externalities at an ecosystemic level—ultimately leading to a more prosperous and sustainable future for DAOs and beyond 🌍🚀.

Outcomes

Web3 Work’s comprehensive outputs:

🔍 a thorough analysis of historical analogues for labor organizing and a map of social mechanisms unique to Ethereum and web3. 🕵️‍♀️ an in-depth ethnography of DAO contributors to pinpoint the unique challenges faced by web3 and DAO contributors. 🤝 focused working groups with DAO leaders and academic experts to prototype practical solutions aimed at maximizing talent retention and ensuring a thriving web3 ecosystem.
