PoolTogether Delegation Statement

Public Goods

Community Outreach

Protocol

Hey friends 👋

With Tally’s Delegation Week approaching, I would like to take this opportunity to propose myself as a delegate.

Background:

Since joining the PoolTogether community, I have been a passionate participant. Initially, I voted with 50 PPOOL, which was worth around $1000 at the time of deposit. However, when rewards expired and discussions emerged about eliminating PPOOL gas-less voting, I liquidated my holdings during a period of low gas and personal need.

In fact, I have been eager to re-engage with the governance of the protocol. Unfortunately, my stake would not be worth participating, especially considering the high gas prices.

Why I believe I would be a good choice:

  • For almost two years, I have written about every major version, feature, and event that has occurred in PoolTogether. Not only have I written about them, but I have also conducted the deepest dives and created the most-referenced content. Additionally, I have worked with PoolTogether and various other DAOs, and I keep an ear to the ground of Crypto-Twitter. As a result, I am familiar with the broader direction of the industry and can consider the macro view of the space when making proposals and votes.

  • Over the past year, I have been present and actively participating in the chat during the majority of community calls. I first started joining calls almost two years ago. Unlike many others, my day job is not even tangentially related to Web3 or software, so I make adjustments to my work schedule as much as possible to participate.

  • I have minted a Pooly, supported both car fundraisers, and have minted almost every PoolTogether/Pooly NFT, even when I really couldn’t afford it. because I am proud to be part of this community and show it on chain.

My positions:

  • I believe that protocols need to be accessible. This means that fees should be low without sacrificing security.
  • Following that logic, all aspects of PoolTogether, including governance, should be L2-native. I would make achieving this a key goal.
  • As a believer in sustainable systems, I would vote in favor of measures to build a healthy DAO treasury, which can be used for retroactive and proactive funding of initiatives that help the community and the protocol grow. I believe that the hyperstructure + protocol-owned liquidity can help achieve this, but I am open to researching and voting in favor of other measures.
  • Prize savings are needed most by those with the least. Therefore, I will always vote in favor of including sensible small prizes in the distribution, as long as adjustments are manually made.
  • Privacy is a fundamental right, and there’s plenty of evidence that actions, especially voting are coerced when not done privately. Once it becomes affordable enough for anyone to vote, no matter how small their stake, I would advocate for or otherwise vote in favour of private voting.
  • Education and marketing are crucial aspects of onboarding new users (B2C & B2B). Therefore, I will always vote to fund or retroactively reward these often-neglected areas.

For a further glimpse into my views, please read my blog or social posts, or simply ask me.

Note: the biggest issue for me with respect to voting will be gas costs. Until such time that we have voting on an L2, any contributions to help cover gas during voting periods would be very welcome 💚

Thank you for your consideration.
