As we continue to explore avenues for growth and sustainability within the DAO ecosystem, we must position our DAO to take full advantage of emerging opportunities. This proposal outlines a strategic move from Polygon to Arbitrum, motivated by the potential to secure STIP funding and my bullish outlook on the Arbitrum ecosystem backed by other Editors.
Background:
The Content Guild has thrived on Polygon, leveraging its scalability and low transaction costs to foster our community and operations. However, the evolving landscape of DAO governance presents new opportunities that require us to reassess our positioning.
Motivation:
- STIP Funding Opportunity: Arbitrum has announced its final round of STIP funding, aimed at supporting projects that contribute to the ecosystem's growth (see the STIP Round 1 post on the Arbitrum Foundation Forum). Migrating to Arbitrum positions us to apply for this funding, which would provide valuable resources to expand our operations and impact.
- Bullish on Arbitrum: The Arbitrum ecosystem represents a leading edge in scalability, security, and developer engagement. Moving to Arbitrum aligns us with a rapidly growing community that values innovation and governance, offering a fertile ground for our DAO's initiatives.
Proposal Details:
- Migration Plan: After migrating to the new Content Guild DAO on Arbitrum once this proposal passes, I will help distribute membership NFTs on Arbitrum to Content Guild members, many of which have joined in the last few months after Badger sunsetted operations and currently have no NFT.
- Timeline: With migration beginning next week, we would hope to be complete by Friday, March 8.
Benefits:
- Access to Funding: Securing STIP funding will enable us to scale our projects, improve our platform, and increase our contributions to the crypto content ecosystem.
- Ecosystem Synergies: Aligning with Arbitrum's growing ecosystem opens up collaboration opportunities with leading projects and innovators in the space.
- Enhanced Performance and Lower Costs: Arbitrum's Layer 2 solution offers improved performance and potentially lower transaction costs, enhancing our operational efficiency.
Migrating to Arbitrum is a strategic move that positions the Content Guild DAO for growth, sustainability, and increased impact! Let's migrate, people! :)
